As many of you know my love for vintage does not stop at clothes. One of my favorite past times is hunting down home decor treasures at estate sales, thrift shops and antique fairs. A combination of the story and the unique wear and tear that can come with each piece, vintage accents can truly add fabulous character to any home design. Recently I have been sorting through many of those finds, trying to redefine my own home style. It has been during this process I have come to the realization that my room is currently what I would consider my "space of sanctuary" and that means that the poor boy has to at times endure the overflow of trinkets, feminine color... and not to mention the "deadly" shoe problem on the floor. LOL. Perusing the inter webs for solutions, I have been more and more inspired by the curated "Woman Cave" spaces being created. Moreover whether it be wanted for extra storage, office needs or play dates, a "Woman Cave" can not only be functional but also fashionable with a touch of vintage flair. Giving you easy access to finding pre-loved finds like mine for your own "Woman Cave", I have partnered with Chairish, an online marketplace where one can buy and sell vintage pieces, putting together a shoppable list of stylish pieces.
Color is a great way to create cohesive room when using vintage pieces. I personally love to pick a piece that pops and work around it. For example a pair of Yellow Stools caught my eye in the Chairish Bar Stools section and quickly was in love with their Mid-Century meets Retro design. Print and texture is another big decor must-do for me. Bring this in with accessory accents that can be changed as your style and needs evolve. Sticking to citrus hues, I was over the moon to find a set of stripped Mid-Century glasses and a shaggy Turkish Kilim throw pillow on the Chairish site. Continuing to work on my on "Woman Cave" (Actually small corner for now. LOL.), I hope to have sparked your own vintage design project as well!
