Has anyone else noticed this skinny scarf trend? I first spotted it when a handful of my favorite bloggers rocked it late summer and then, when I recently received my J Crew fall style guide, BAM! Front cover. Skinny scarf. I quickly dug through my "yet-to-be-worn-vintage" stash for some I knew I had purchased (I know. I know. Its a problem I am working on... kind of) and I was so excited my past self had somehow knew my present self would need these pretties. It was a pure Back To The Future genius moment I tell you. Anyways, as much I was loving the look I was a little frustrated with how to wear the trend. Mind you that is probably why they had been in my "pending' pile. Although the most popular way its done is by tying it around the neck, I choose to start by trying it as a wrist accessory as showcased on the cover of the J Crew Style Guide. I actually tried to replicate the whole look, minus the shoes. I do this quite a lot when exploring a new trend. I find it helps to mimic a favorite fashion icon or go-to label look book model, pin pointing what I really like about a trend and how to incorporate it into my own wardrobe. For a day in SF, exploring the De Young Museum, this ensemble was spot on and I can say I am officially on the skinny scarf bandwagon!
