Happy New Year Friends! What can I say but I know I was noticeably off the grid last year. Life really took me to some new places, professionally and personally, some good and some bad. At times I really felt like I was falling by the wayside and although I still find myself swimming towards the top, there are two very valuable lessons I have learned along the way and want to share them with you at the start of this new year.
ONE: The only constant in life is change. Ain't that the truth. As a creature of habit, change has never been my strength, yet this year it shook me to the core. Change forced me to take some risks, teaching me a lot about what I want for my life and in my life, but more importantly that what I want will always be changing for everything and everyone is also changing. No one tells you that (brace yourself) you will NEVER have life figured out, figuring it out is actually how you embrace the changes, both the highs and the lows.
TWO: Comparison is the thief of joy. It is so easy to assume that the grass is greener on the other side. GUILTY. I realized that I started to get really hung up on what I had not yet accomplished in all aspects of my life. With the big three-oh staring me in my face, self-reflection has been inevitable. Yet a wise friend of mine (love you Adriana) was keen to remind me, the grass is greener where you water it. Instead of comparing, be inspired by others. Know that everyone's path is different and you must trust in your own story.
Both lessons easier said than done I look forward to this new year and hope to bring some much needed balance back into my life, which includes sharing much more with you once again!
