Old barns, small town coffee shops and a lake side view are some of my favorite things I was lucky enough to enjoy last week. Taking a time out, I headed over to the state of Wisconsin for a work trip with the boy and was able to explore a handful of familiar and new places, including Elkhart Lake, Plymouth and Kohler. Inspired by the "holiday resort meets historical colonial" style of my trip, I packed accordingly and really played up a few fun nautical looks. Nautical prints are a great summer staple and can by paired with classic pieces for a traditional take or with casual cuts for a more modern twist. For my ensemble, I have had my sailboat tee on repeat and wore it once again to a meeting I had in Elkhart Lake for my mixology research. Mixing prints, I paired it with a striped midi skirt and for a pop of color, instead of the predictable primary red accessory, I choose a hot pink purse. Stay tuned to how I remix this look as well as my Mixology 101 post with Wisconsin flair!
