A sucker for abstract 80's flower prints (see another look here), I salvaged this midi-dress on one of my many thrifting trips recently. Midi length dresses or skirts can be very tricky to wear for its unique length can be unflattering to the silhouette. To avoid this extenuate the waist section of the ensemble. Cinch a midi-dress with a belt. When considering purchasing a midi-skirt pick a high waisted style and pair it with a crop top that lays on the waist line (see my look here). For my midi outfit, I brought in some modern bold details to my vintage dress. I layered on some statement necklaces as well as sported my favorite new purse, a studded mint clutch from Aldo that is a perfect pastel piece for spring (get yours here). Can we say obsessed!?!

Tropical days are here. Prepping for some fun fashion events and wedding season festivities, I have my eyes set on some statement print pieces, including various floral motifs of course. I also want to mix up my looks with some pastel and sherbet hues. I have been wearing mostly tart brights and a dose of some sweeter colors is much needed.

Maxi Style

With so much Coachella style on the web this past week, I couldn't help but attempt to put together some boho-chic inspired looks for my wardrobe recently. This particular look invokes a whole lot of whimsical funk and it is safe to say that this is not my fashion forte. Thus starting with a comfortable foundation I immediately reached into my closet for my LBMaxiD. Maxi dresses are a great versatile piece to have when transitioning into the warmer months. Paired with some cute sandals or a printed scarf, a maxi dress can take you from dressed-up to dressed-down or from day to night. Accenting my maxi with a denim layer, a very hot spring trend this year, I picked up this pink denim dream at Target (also want to try this Target style here). It was a must buy as soon as I laid my eyes on it. What is your Coachella style?

Trending: Silver Points

Sincerely, silver accessories have never been my cup of tea. Yet with a new found look at this metallic detail via shoe shimmers, this spring, I have been officially converted. Okay, okay I won't be tossing out my gold baubles anytime soon but I am dying to dabble in the silver shoe trend ASAP. When choosing a pair, be careful of going too strap happy. One to many straps can look very prom-ish. Also shy away from platforms and 6 inch heels. A little too much va va va voom in silver will scream cheap if not styled correctly. Making it modern and simple, I love the pointed toe choice. Snagging a pair at Crossroads Trading Co. recently for a steal I can't wait to take my silver puppies out for a ride very soon! XOXO

Glass Slippers

Floral prints are always a great staple look for the spring season. Yet make sure to note that whether in form of a pant, dress or skirt it is important to balance the type of print to the outfit piece. For example, a classic flower pattern on a traditional cut dress can start to look too girlish or even dowdy and dated. Try to keep timeless floral motifs to more modern looks like on a statement pant or blazer. For more conventional silhouettes, such as a shift dress or an a-line skirt, don't be afraid to play with more graphic flower images.

For my blooming look, I kept my colors classic as well as bringing in a denim top for a casual touch. Indulging in my see-through obsession (see here and here),  I finished the ensemble with my version of glass slippers. A little bold, a little funky these wedge pumps will certainly be on rotation for the warm months to come.

Pink and Polka Dots

If you are caught somewhere between spring sun and spring showers, as I am, statement pants are always a fun option while you wait for that must wear dress day to come. Always looking for fun colors or popping prints, I snatched these pink pretties (want these white ones too, see here) on one of my Target runs. Pairing it with my new favorite addition to my polka dot collection, I also had to add an en trend metallic touch with some shiny pink pumps.
