Apple Crisp

I whipped up this quick recipe for, Apple Crisp (see here) for one of the boy's friends who happened to be in town on his birthday. Interstingly easier said than done, the crisp part was what threw me for a cruve because getting the right consistacy and overall crunch was a bit tricky. I think next time I might add some graham cracker into the mixture for some more breaded taste. Hot out the oven with some vanilla bean ice cream, this apple bite is a must try.

Animal Instinct

Animal print is always a great go-to look when planning a fun night out. Pair some leopard pumps, with a simple red dress, or throw on a feline inspired coat, over your t-shirt and jeans, and your set. What I mostly love about animal print, these days, is that it is always en trend. Dare I say, it has almost become somewhat of a neutral "color" in its own right.

Giving my own twist to this wild wardrobe must-do, Parrots, Antelopes and Lions galore, I scored this animal print top on one of my many trips to the De Anza Flea Market. Combining it with my tiger print pumps, it gave my ensemble just the exotic edge I was looking for.

Trending: Lucite

I first noticed the transparent trend emerge, when I was lusting over some Margiela for H&M heels, late last year. Thus when the Spring 2013 runway was spotted with attention to clear clutches and other lucite lovlies, I've been smitten ever since with finding some pieces for my own wardrobe. How will you wear the trend? And are you so over winter as I am?!? XOXO

Denim on Denim

Hello Sunshine! I won't lie, I will fully admit that I was one of those over-dramatic Californian's crying over the 30 degree weather this past cold front. But rightfully so, after a week of battling the wretched flu, I needed my warm weather! (#caligirlproblems) Hope you all are staying warm and flu free! XOXO

Pop Of Purple

It has been quiet the fun week so far. With the blink of the eye, the boy's race season (learn more herehere, and here) has begun and I am excited to be going on my first road trip of the year, for their first test weekend, which is coming up in a few days.

Hence in preparation for the trip the boys have been trickling into town from all parts of the country, meeting up at my small abode. Playing host, I am thoroughly indulging in the company of a full house because let me tell you, watching the season opener of The Bachelor, with three grown men, is just as amazingly funny as it sounds. XOXO.

Mexican Hot Chocolate Cake

Chocolate cravings was the driving force behind this weekend's dessert project. Although I had quiet my fill over the holiday with sweets like pie and bread goodness, I was still left with a slight want for some coco concotion. Therefore looking to explore the flavor of classic mexican hot chocolate, I scoured the web till I found this recipe (see here). Quite the indulgent treat, I am still perfecting my own take on this recipe, but for a first go, I was quiet excited to make a cake from scratch, without too many disasters! Oh ya... how about that vintage cake stand? I almost died when I found it thrifting this past Fall.

Bows and Sparkle

Happy New Year Lovelies! I hope you all spent NYE with close loved ones as I did. My favorite part of New Year's Eve night, other than the midnight kiss with the boy, is undoubtedly dressing-up. Thus bringing in 2013, I decided to rock a dash of sparkle and some fun prints. Adding bows for an exclamation point, this ensemble was the cherry on top to my twelve o'clock balloon drop!
