Shopping vintage can be very overwhelming, particularly when you go a little rogue sometimes, like moi, and bypass the Goodwill. A good tip to keep in mind is, shop by the current trends. Instead of turning to the mall, which can smoother you with the season's must-do style, I look for that one-of-a-kind find at my local thrift store or garage sale. Not only do I get the trend for a steal, but it helps me focus on finding signature pieces and not going home with piles of things "I think I might wear."
Also, going to a well curated consignment shop or estate sale can really make a big difference. For my Bay Area gals, make sure to check out Kuzak's Closet. A lifestyle blogger that focuses on home organization, Amanda hosts carefully "picked" estate sales, making fashionable gems easy to spot. Searching for a woven accessory to sport with my summer looks, I was over the moon when I scored not just one but two basket style pieces at one of Amanda's estate sales in the Saratoga Hills. I mean, how chic is this cross-body braided beauty?
