Twenty Twelve

As I look back on the whirlwind that was 2012, what can I say but... what a year! I certainly did not expect to travel as much as I did and I certainly did not expect meet all the new lovely people I now call friends, but what a pleasant surprise it was when I let all those new experiences in.

Thus all and all, I must tell you, that this year has taught me a valuable lesson on how to throw caution to the wind sometimes and not worry too much about what is next. By nature, I have always been more of a dreamer taking life, what some might call, a little too carefree. But even with all that gusto for the the lax life, I now know that I never truly understood what it meant to live in the moment, much less live that moment to its fullest. But as I sang at full lung capacity, while running down unknown roads earlier this year around the country, I realized that if you open your eyes and are just present with the blessing that is in every sunrise to sunset, there is beauty in being fully present, with oneself in new adventures. When you let life in... the possibilities are endless.

As I look forward to what is to come, I cannot wait for a new year full of new endeavors to fill my memory bank with. Starting 2013 with a bang, I will debut a new blog name tomorrow and I hope you will join me on my new journey full of style and sass. XOXO!

2012 Gift Guide: Splurge-Worthy

Every girl loves to splurge a little. Right ladies? Thus here is a gift guide for all those special gals, in your life, you love to spoil this time of the year. XOXO. (See under $25 Gift Guide here and under $50 Gift Guide here)

Happy Holiday

With the holiday season going as fast as it came, it was nevertheless amazing to spend most days being in the festive spirit and catching up on some much needed home sweet home time. Watching cheesy movies and stuffing myself with sweets, all while the pitter-patter of rain fills the night... now thats what I call a little piece of heaven. Thus when I finally ventured out, to brave the seasonal California chill, I seized the chance to style an 80's statement sweater I had recently picked up on a thrifting trip. Pairing it with an en trend faux leather skirt and polka dot nylons, I was able to add a modern twist to the vintage, sequined knit. Happy Holidays!

2012 Gift Guide: Under $50

I love the idea of gifting statement pieces for the holidays. It just takes that one piece to spark up a day-to-day, jean and t-shirt ensemble or give a signature look to your favorite little black dress. Here are a few of my unconvetionally chic picks, sure to give that wow factor come Christmas Day.(See Gift Guide Under $25 here)

Foxy Print

I had been itching to try the graphic-print sweater trend for a while (see my inspiration board here) and when I found this fox pattern knit I immediately knew it would make a picture perfect moment with my big-eared, Fox-Rat Terrier pup (see other picture perfect pup moments here and here).

Using black and beige as my foundation, I juxtaposed the fun foxy print sweater with classic hounds tooth and polka dot pieces.  Infusing some color, I fell head over heels, pun intended, with a pair of tart red, cap-toe pumps, which I matched with a vintage belt and necklace. Don't shy away from bright hues this cold weather season. Winter is a great time as any to show some stylish holiday flair!

By the way... Stay tuned to big changes coming to the blog. Will be debuting a new name for the new year. XOXO
