Marni and Motorcycles

Last Thursday I found myself in line at H&M, way to early for the sun to warm my little hands, all in the sake for the love fashion. Despite the madness that ensued, I was able to score a fab Marni necklace in a purchase line trade. Reminiscent of vintage Bakelite, the chunky plastic design, with a touch of sparkle, makes a great statement piece you will see me wearing a lot of.

On a personal tidbit, it is a little over a week later and I find myself, once more up before the sun, yet this morning, computer stalking motorcycles in Florida, all in the sake for the love of road racing. Puzzled? I do not blame you. So let me start of by saying, in my best Elmer Fudd voice that it is, "Wacing Season" (racing season). Racing what? Motorcycles. Why do I care? Well, the boy has his own team and it would be an understatement to say he "sleeps, eats and breathes" it. This will be his third year in the national AMA league and quite frankly I would be lying to myself if I would say I did not wish I was at the track with the boys. From writing press releases to moonlighting as an umbrella girl, I myself have learned to love the sport that its quite the ying to my fashion yang. A balance, which this relationship is still learning to adjust. Yet it is with a certainty that I can tell you that if it was not for seeing the boy reach for the stars, this blog would not exist. It is the passion that he has for what he is doing in life that has driven me to take a leap into doing something creative for myself and I am a happier person for it.

With that said, you will have to forgive me for my racing week hiatuses, such as this last week. In the next coming months, I will either be traveling with the team or too paralyzed with nerves while at home, when keeping up to speed with the boys via computer and television (learn more about the team here).

I do miss him so, despite the sometimes trifling things that we struggle with because of the motorcycle madness that is racing. On that note, I leave you with the last photos we were able to take before his trip to Florida, of my Marni inspired ensemble.
