I will be the first to admit, keeping up with fashion week while going about daily life can be a little much. Glued to the computer screen, browsing endless slide shows on NY Mag, sipping on another mocha while longing to be in the front row instead, can take an emotional toll. Thus, I have done the dirty work for you, sparing you the heartache, compiling a fab fashion week round-up of my favorite looks.
I don't know whether it was the over-the-top color-blocking or over-the-top mixing of patterns, but this 2012 S/S fashion week's funky combinations had me over-the-moon.
From New York to Paris, I adored the sherbert shades and pops of pastel that color-blocked the runway. Yet what captivated me the most was that these color-blocking combos were not just done by pairing pieces together. Color-blocking seems to have transformed into a new pattern in itself, blocking out hues on singular articles of clothing, creating a sort of a colorful striped revolution.
Feeding my eclectic addictions even more were the array of looks that didn't just mix colors but mixed prints as well. Many designers created pieces that played with a handful of patterns on one piece, many of those prints being romantic florals and paisleys, keeping a touch of classic conventional spring.
A sucker for color, 2012 S/S fashion week had me at tangy toned tops. For more of my fashion week look favorites follow me on Pintrest!
